Three days ago, we observed the 19th anniversary of September 11th, commonly referred to as 9/11.
Today, on 9/14, we celebrate the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross.
Two historically significant events occurring three days apart.

Three days also separate Good Friday from Easter Sunday.
On Good Friday, Jesus was nailed to a tree and laid in a tomb.
On Easter Sunday, he rose from the dead.
Two historically significant events occurring three days apart.

Today’s feast reminds us that horrible things happen in our world. Our Savior was nailed to a tree.
Our nation was unfairly attacked.
We could add a host of other personal tragedies here.
But when our hearts are weighed down by sorrow or grief, we must remember that God responds, “three days” later.
Love, not hate, is victorious in the end.
